Laud Anthony Basing is a lecturer at the Department of Medical Diagnostics, KNUST, and the Founder and CEO of Incas Diagnostics. His expertise in Microbiology and Biomedical Engineering drives his passion for developing innovative diagnostic tools for diseases impacting women and children in Africa.

Research Contributions

Laud has worked with renowned institutions including the University of Liverpool, WHO, and Purdue University on projects spanning climate change effects, yaws eradication, and HIV diagnostics. He leads an EDCTP-funded program to evaluate rapid diagnostics in multiple African countries.

Recognitions and Awards

He was the first Ghanaian nominated for the Innovation Prize for Africa and has been honored as one of the 50 Most Influential Young Ghanaians, a Gates Goalkeeper, and a top innovator by WHO. Laud has also won prestigious business model and innovation competitions globally.

Community and Leadership

Laud is a member of the American Society for Microbiology's Young Leaders Circle and a former ASM Young Ambassador to Ghana. He has held leadership roles in the Global Shapers Community and the Ghana Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists.

Notable Achievements

He led a multi-country team to win WHO's COVID-19 Hackathon, collaborated with KNUST to develop a rapid COVID-19 test kit, and was named one of the top 50 young CEOs in Ghana. His work has taken him to conferences in Africa, Europe, and the United States, showcasing his innovations in healthcare.
